Keep this contract and your tech job sheet in a place where you will be sure to see it occasionally. A Contract Drama Team plays are a team effort. The Drama Team has attained a national reputation for excellence only because every member of the Team did his or her best. Remember that everyone on the Team is counting on you to carry out your technical job with creativity and enthusiasm. Your job will be done only if you do it. A contract: I promise to seek out ways to do my tech job as completely and creatively as I possibly can. I understand that a passing grade is necessary to maintain my membership in the Team. I also understand that a grade of at least a "B" is necessary to earn Thespian points and the privilege of going to Thespian regional and international festivals. I understand that to earn a passing grade on my technical job I must to the following: 1. Attempt to solve all problems as maturely as possible and reframe from excessive complaining or negative attitudes. 2. Understand that I am working on a Team and will help my teammates to the best of my ability. I will ask others how I may help them. 3. Give written reports on progress of my tech job to the Assistant Director on dates stipulated in my tech job directions. 4. Raise a minimum of $75 by selling VIP tickets and/or ads. 5. Complete my tech job by the deadline. 6. Take care of my own costume and props. After each performance, I will place props and costume in their proper place. 7. Come to all assigned rehearsals on time. 8. I will not wait until there is only a few weeks left to solve problems. By then it may be too late and people may be too busy at the last minute to help. Signed_____________________________ Date______________________________ The following are additional tasks and notes for all members of the Drury Drama Team: 1 We will all strike the set. This is absolutely required for all team members. 2 Please help up raise money! The theatre department receives no funds from the school or city. It is up to us. You can help by selling ads and VIP tickets. 80% of the funds over $100 received by each student will be credited to their account for the International Festival expenses. People that buy VIP tickets at one month before the production will have their name printed in the program. A VIP ticket may be used for all performances of all Drama Team productions including the musical. 3 Safety is important. The catwalk is off limits to all except those that have permission from the school administration or me. Watch for cords and wires that can cause tripping. Do not leave anything on the floor that does not belong. Do not touch any equipment that you do not have specific permission to use. Do not use power tools except under supervision by the shop teacher. 4 Please tell your friends and relatives that photography is not allowed during performances. It is distracting to the audience and actors. It is dangerous and illegal. Violators will be asked to leave the theatre by the house manager. If you would like to have photos of your performances, copies will be supplied to you at cost. Families with disruptive children will be asked to leave. Please be sure that friends and relatives are aware of this. 5 The most important rule of the Drama Team is as follows: Do not hurt yourself or anyone else. 6 One last word about tech jobs: A major production such as this play can not be undertaken unless everyone does his or her best. Your teammates are counting on you to do your "technical job" as best as you can. If you have questions or concerns about your job, don't hesitate to ask well in advance of your deadline. If your task is not totally completed by the due date, it can severely affect the production. Your grade on this project will be based on completeness, problem solving, and seriousness of intent. |
